Sgts. Trevor J. Johnson, 23, of Forsyth, Mont., and David W. Wallace III, 25, of Sharpsville, Pa., died in Helmand province. Both combat engineers, they were assigned to Camp Lejeunes 2nd Combat Engineer Battalion, which deployed to Afghanistan in November.

SSgt Daniel L. Hansen, 24, of Tracy, Calif.; EOD technician assigned to Marine Wing Support Squadron 171, Marine Wing Support Group 17, 1st Marine Air Wing, III Marine Expeditionary Force, Iwakuni, Japan; died Feb. 14 while supporting combat operations in Farah province, Afghanistan.


30 APRIL 2009


Staff Sergeant Mark A. Wojciechowski, 25, of Cincinnati was one of two Marines killed in combat, in Iraqs Anbar province, west of Baghdad. He was assigned to the 7th Engineer Support Battalion, 1st Marine Logistics Group, 1st Marine Expeditionary Force at Camp Pendleton.


10 JUNE 2009


Chief Warrant Officer 2 Ricky L. Richardson Jr., 33, of Franklin, Mo., died June 10 while supporting combat operations in Farah province, Afghanistan. He was assigned to 9th Engineer Support Battalion, 3rd Marine Logistics Group, III Marine Expeditionary Force, Okinawa, Japan.

Sgt. Michael W. Heede Jr., 22, of Delta, Pa., of 1st Combat Engineer Bn and Staff Sgt. David S. Spicer, 33, of Zanesfield, Ohio, of 8th Engineer Support Bn died July 13 while supporting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan.


18 AUGUST 2009


Gunnery Sgt. Adam F. Benjamin, 34, of Garfield Heights, Ohio, died Aug. 18 while supporting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan. He was assigned to 8th Engineer Support Battalion, Combat Logistics Regiment 2, 2nd Marine Logistics Group, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, N.C.


9 OCTOBER 2009


Staff Sgt. Aaron J. Taylor, 27, of Bovey, Minn., died Oct. 9 while supporting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan. He was assigned to Marine Wing Support Squadron 372, Marine Wing Support Group 37, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, Calif.

L/Cpl. Omar G. Roebuck, 33, of Moreno Valley, Ca., died Dec. 22 while supporting combat operations in Afghanistan. He was assigned to 2nd Combat Engineer Battalion

Cpl. Joshua Torbett, 25, of Canton, Mi., died Feb. 13 while supporting combat operations in Afghanistan. He was assigned to 2nd Combat Engineer Battalion
