RESOLUTION OF THE MARINE CORPS ENGINEER ASSOCIATION EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE

TOPIC: Return of TD 18 to Courthouse Bay

WE ACKNOWLEDGE THAT- the TD18 was outside Marine Corps Engineer School Headquarters, Bldg: BB28 for over 4 decades.

WE ACKNOWLEDGE THAT- thousands of graduates of nearly 30 courses of instruction took graduation photos in front of the TD-18.

WE ACKNOWLEDGE THAT- as a long remembered “fixture” at MCES, with ”Marine Corps Engineer School” written across its bull blade in old English script, its home is at MCES.

RECOGNIZING- Col. Johnson’s reiteration at the 11 Oct. 2012, business meeting that his most recent discussion with the NMMC representative indicates there may still be an

opportunity for the TD 18 to be displayed at the Museum.

BEARING IN MIND- any display equipment at NMMC most likely will be best received/most popular if it were painted w/operational colors/camouflage.

RECALLING- the TD18, or TD24, (unpopular) EIMCO or 8230 TEREX – were all painted in Marine Corps #23 Green (standard green paint color) since WWII.

AND RECALLING- the CAT D7 with Camouflage paint– served our Marine Corps Engineers from ~1982 thru ~ 2010/11.

WE APPAULD- the recommendation made by Mark Swanstrom during our MCEA 11 Oct. 2012, business meeting that we recruit Engineer General Officers to support

the relocation of the TD 18 to Courthouse Bay.

WE APPAULD- the motion made by George Wuerch during the 11 Oct. 2012, business meeting that the MCEA Executive Committee draft a resolution supporting the

return of the TD 18 to MCES.

AND WE AFFIRM- all Members in attendance at the 11 Oct. 2012, business meeting voted unanimously for continued support of return of TD18 to MCES as a permanent display.

THEREFORE, the Executive Committee strongly endorses the return of the TD-18 to Courthouse Bay and that

the project should be a high priority for all concerned.

HELMUTS FEIFS

PRESIDENT, MCEA
